Poppi got back from the St. George RC Electric flyin trip and started taking the Mustang apart this week. I think Sally can taste the new parts because the clutch took a dump while he was gone. Mimi was stuck driving Sally for a few days and while out on the town, the clutch stopped working properly. haha She nursed it home somehow (aka wing and a prayer).
Dad got the 'Stang on jackstands in the driveway and started removing stuff. The exhaust, driveshaft, transmission, shifter boot and Hurst lever. This badboy has a lot of miles and abuse and a previous rebuild. It's looking very well used. That's 25 years of Mojave desert living right there!
Once the trans was out, the throw out bearing was found to be seized and abused/overheated. The clutch fingers were also damaged. So, a clutch will have to be part of the rebuild package.
The next day the radiator, fan, alternator and a.i.r hoses were removed. The Coolant and oil were drained and the battery and tray were removed too.
Next up is the Power steering pump and A/C compressor along with the intake manifold and fuel lines. Getting close!
